travel with pisang: ho chi minh city

i travelled to ho chi minh city, vietnam from 31st august to 3 september 2017 and it was truly an eye-opener as it was very much like a school excursion type of cultural trip. i learnt and observed so much, many things and events that cannot be found in singapore. street hawkers were everywhere and the 'asian squat' can be seen along the streets wherever there is a drink store or food store. through this trip, i learnt about the vietnam war and the horrifying deaths and something called "Agent Orange". go search it up but warning, it can be disturbing. the third day left me shook after visiting the war remnants museum. due to the french influence in the past, many buildings from the colonial times are still well kept and present. however, there is also a strong chinese influence in vietnam. from the usage of chopsticks, chinese paintings being hung up in the reunification palace, to having many words and phrases that were derived from the chinese language itself and made to fit the tonal language that the locals speak. there is so much to say, but i shan't spoil it for you! visit vietnam on your own for a firsthand experience!

do enjoy this video made by me!!
